Example of positive interactions between students and teacher

Observing the teacher and his interaction with the students, I find that he is a very calm individual, he is organized, and knows how to move students along to the project goal. Also, it is interesting to hear the response of the students; they have verbal skills to relate to the teacher.
Putting students in charge of their own learning

This video has shown what the students are capable of doing when they are really made more responsible for their own learning. richer forms of assessment and student designed rubrics helps the students to internalize their desire to do more work and increase learning.

After viewing this video I found it to be a very good example of PBL. The students are engaged in learning through exploring, and collobarating with other classmates. The students are using the electronmicroscope to study insects.Through this consect the teacher acts as the faciliatator. The teacher introduces a RUBRIC to the class as a means of monitoring their progress. Not only is the RUBRIC introduced but the students are involved in creating it. I use strategies such as PBL but not as extensively. I will readjust my planning to be more detailed.
Technology-enhanced project learning

Great video. If only we had that kind of technology available in every classroom.

I found this video an excellent example of higher quality learning in the classroom. It has been a number of years since I have been in school but i never had an experience that was even remotly close to this. When i was in middle school i think we only had 1 comp for the whole school. I think that allowing children to take an active role in their learning will allow them to become interested in what they are learning through interaction. I hope to have technology such as this in my classroom being that it will add to the students interest and potential to learn.

I think this is a great way for kids to learn, and this highly shows advanced quality learning. Letting the children be hands on and get involved in the lesson will help them be more interested in what is trying to be taught, and will get them more excited for the lessons ahead. This lesson isn't as the video says "teacher directed" and in my opinion those are the best kinds of lessons, because it gives the chance to be responsible for their own work. A lesson I had like this was in high school chemistry class, when most of the lessons were 'hands on' so we could get a better understanding of the experiments.

I think that this video is great. PBL is an effective way to learn, and to rememebr what you have learned. Kids can get bored easy, and having them so involved keeps things interesting.

i think that this is a great example of higher quality learning. kids need activities/experiments like this in order to get more interested in what they are learning. I think things like this work great in the classroom and i would use them when i begin teaching.

This video was an excellent example of higher learning in the classroom. Giving students the ability to work with scientists to do research is truly a higher level learning experience. The students at Clearview are given the chance to be creative and make a multimedia project while learning about technology and insects. One practice that this teacher utilized that I would consider using with my own students is giving the students a chance to help develop a rubic for an assignment.
